The Passive Income Stream Every Photographer Needs To Set Up Right Now

If you’ve been on this passive income journey with me for a while, you know my goal is to help you make money in your sleep. We’ve talked a lot about selling stock images and stock video, but today I’m here to tell you about another really easy passive income option: Instaproofs. I truly believe every photographer needs to set up this passive income stream right now!

If you’re not familiar with Instaproofs, it’s is an all-inclusive platform for photographers. Instaproofs provides a variety of services from booking sessions and invoicing, to hosting client galleries and marketing. My favorite feature, however, is their storefront and marketing automation tools. They provide the tools to help you generate revenue before, during, and after your sessions have been shot. Yet, another way to generate income passively!

It’s sometimes difficult for a photographer to get into the sales mindset. After all, your clients have just spent a significant amount of money on the service you provided. But, I think it’s important to remember a few things. One, you are doing your client a favor by reminding them not to let their photos only live online. Print those babies! Give them to grandparents and hang them all over your house! And two, there is a good chance if clients aren’t using your storefront to purchase prints or products, they are doing it elsewhere. By providing a high-quality print lab, you are ensuring that your work is portrayed in the best way possible.

With Instaproofs you can connect your galleries to a professional lab (and there are 10 or more to choose from). You can select to have the prints and products sent directly to your clients or they can be sent to you. One reason you could want them sent to you is if you’d like to repackage them or give a few prints as gifts to your clients. You can pay for more luxury packaging through Instaproofs as well.

What I love to do is set up a sale. I offer 30% off proofs for the first 10 days and last 10 days before the gallery expires. Marketing emails will automatically get sent out for every single gallery to both remind my clients of the sale and connect them with the storefront. Instaproofs has a lot of great marketing tools, especially with automated emails. The sale also creates some urgency for clients. It gives them a deadline and call to action for purchasing prints.

The sales automation above is how I sell most of my prints and my print sales have gone up 80% since I switched to Instaproofs! I will also run other sales throughout the year (Fathers Day, Mothers Day, Black Friday, etc) its a good reminder for clients to actually order prints and gives them a tiny bit of urgency. It also has a beautiful and simple interface. They are always adding new features, which I love.

So, if you’re a photographer and don’t have this passive income stream set up yet, take some time today and get it set up. Who knows, you could double or triple your print sales! I understand that a lot of photographers avoid selling prints because they don’t like sales, but Instaproofs makes it simple and doesn’t have to add more work to your plate. That’s why I think every photographer needs to get their Instaproofs marketing automations set up right away!

Use this link to sign up for Instaproofs and we’ll both receive 2GB of additional storage!

P.S. Beyond the additional storage I can receive for referring my friends I’m not being paid to promote Instaproofs. I truly do use it myself and love it because of the passive income I earn from selling prints to my clients.
